The Beauty Of Risk
I was reading the Forbes Magazine not to long ago and I saw an article that you can read here. In this article they talk about a study that shows that CEO’s that fly planes are better CEO’s. I don’t think flying planes has to do with your management ability but what they realized is that people who are not afraid of risks are more likely to lead a company to new heights.
Risk? A lot of people are afraid to take risks and as a result they are either broke or bored. You have to be a risk taker to be an entrepreneur but that doesn’t mean being risky. Let’s think about it this way, if I jump out of a plane with no parachute that is being risky. If I jump out of a plane with a trained professional that has jumped out of 1000 planes and with a state of the art parachute, I am taking a risk.
Robert Kiyosaki outlines this in his books in the Rich Dad Series. You have to take risk to become wealthy but you will go broke really fast being “risky”. You have to have faith in your ability, flying a plane is no small task, and it be very “risky” for you to take over for your pilot next time you fly cross country, but with lessons and training the risk doesn’t disappear but the skill of the person taking the risk does.
Is real estate “risky”, it depends on if you are a good real estate investor and can manage risks. Same goes for stocks, commodities, forex and entrepreneurship. So heres to managing risks.
